On June 23rd, Scott Larson recognized Martin Massengale as Paul Harris Fellow+2. Martin Massengale is Past President of the University of Nebraska System and currently works as President Emeritus of the University of Nebraska, Director of the Center for Grassland Studies and a Foundation Distinguished Professor. He has been a Rotarian since April of 1996 and was recognized with two years of perfect attendance last April. In 2016 Martin was awarded Rotary Nebraskan of the Year. He is currently serving as the Chair of the Miller Math Award. His contribution of $3,000 to TRF will help in eradicating polio and support TRF's priorities in fighting disease, providing clean water, supporting education, and saving mothers and children through maternal health.
Recently, Engagement Co-Chair Allen Beermann recognized highly engaged Rotarians with perfect attendance: Merle Jansen - 30 years, Don Kucera - 28 years, Chris Zygielbaum - 18 years, Jim Griesen - 14 years, Randy Bretz - 8 years, Jim Smith - 7 years, Abbi Swatsworth - 6 years, Roger Ludemann - 4 years, Ruth Gerber - 4 years.

Just download the Zoom app on your mobile device or the desktop Zoom client on your computer and conveniently hop into our weekly virtual meetings. If three or more Rotarians gather virtually, you get an attendance credit as well.

Last week President Mailani Veney presided the meeting. Ryan Dobesh was the meeting virtual host and tech consultant. Randy Hawthorne was secretary and Angie Muhleisen was the virtual greeter. Randy Hawthorne conducted first and second readings for proposed members. During International Aloha, Lisa Lee introduced Clemens Christmann from Germany who spoke on Germany's perspective during the pandemic. Allen Beermann recognized Rotarians with perfect Rotary attendance and engagement. Scott Larson awarded Paul Harris Fellow +2 to Martin Massengale. In announcements, Randy Bretz discussed happy hour Friday & Rotary Cribs. Lorie Cook-Benjamin introduced the newest Rotarian Pedro Maligo. Pres.-Elect Eric announced survey results and meeting plans. Program host Roger Lempke introduced speakers, David Temme and Diane Temme Stinton.
