Lincoln and Lancaster County are located in the Tallgrass Prairie Ecoregion, which was historically covered by native tallgrass prairie and home to bison, antelope, grassland birds, and many other plants and animals. Our program on March 5 will focus on the development of the Prairie Corridor, connecting Pioneers Park with the Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center near Denton. The Prairie Corridor will promote awareness, understanding, and stewardship of the natural environment by building on the outstanding outreach and education already offered by the Pioneers Park Nature Center and Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center. This includes school hikes, nature camps, the Prairie Immersion school program, and a wide range of public programs for all ages. Our speakers will be Michael Fosberg, Maggie Stuckey, and Nicole Fleck-Tooze.
York Rotary Celebrates 100 Years
The York Rotary Club, which Rotary 14 helped establish, is celebrating its 100th Anniversary on Friday, April 12. Let’s show our support and encouragement by attending their anniversary dinner that evening. It will be a grant event at the York Convention Center just off the Interstate on Highway 81. Ask Yolanda or Randy Bretz for a reservation form.

First Epic Experience was Delicious
The first of many Rotary #14 Epic Experiences was delicious! Rotarians and guests enjoyed a tour of Southeast Community College Great Plains Culinary Institute followed by a fabulous dinner prepared by students and faculty at Course restaurant. Proceeds benefit the Rotary #14 Foundation and Lincoln South of Downtown Art Hub. Thank you to all those who attended. Special thanks to Gail Illich for serving as Lead.

Mentoring Social
Have you thought about becoming a mentor but haven't taken that next step? Are you a mentor now seeking support and advice from other mentors? Do you just want to spend some social time with other members of Rotary #14?

The Rotary #14 Mentoring Committee will host a get-together on Thursday, March 21st from 5:00 to 7:00 at University Towers, 128 N 13th St. We'll have drinks and light snacks on hand. We hope you will come with a story to share or questions for current mentors - but that isn't a requirement. All are welcome.

Please let Jennifer Brinkman or Maury Halstead know if you are interested in attending. Hope to see you there. Sign up here.
An Epic Experience is Waiting for You
We still have tickets for Epic Experiences, part of the fundraising effort from this year’s Rise.Shine.give event. On April 13th you can meander through one of Lincoln’s most charming neighborhoods, Woodshire, enjoy the company of fellow Rotarians and grab a meal, On May 5th you can take in the Lincoln Marathon and breakfast at the home of Randy and Jan Bretz . . . plus so much more. Tickets are available at bidpal.net/Rotary14   Oh, and while you’re there, you can make a donation to our Foundation.
