110th Anniversary Virtual Cocktail Celebration
Our 110th Anniversary Celebration was a smashing success!  Special thanks to our power trio Sharon Wherry, Randy Bretz, & Roger Ludemann for working together to ensure we are able to celebrate this major milestone despite uncertain times. We had great attendance with members showing up virtually in their cocktail attire and we were joined live by Rotary dignitaries led by RI Director Larry Dimmitt, DG Mick McKinley, and DGE Roxy Orr. Congratulations, Rotarians!

Randy Bretz and Jess Rustad made sure that our 110th Anniversary great article is on print at Lincoln Journal Star. Read the entire article, click here.

Polio Bike Ride
Inspired by Past RI President John Germ's recent talk to our club about Polio Eradication, Christina Usher organized a group of bikers for a Polio Bike Ride to coincide with our 110th Anniversary. Big thanks to Christina, the bike riders, and our donors: Eric Drumheller, Mailani Veney, Richard Miller, John Gessert, Jennifer Brinkman, Lori Cook-Benjamin, Bev Austin, Don Spinar, Jim Mastera, Yolanda Hoffman, Lisa Lee, Doug Mathers, Clay Ehlers, Christie Weston, Russ Free, Chris Sommerich, Roger Lempke, Jay Wexler, Deb Uttecht, Keith Larsen, Doc Chaves, Alan Hersch, Kris Rutford, Erin Pemberton, Christina Usher, Peggy Green, Mark Stephens, Sue Wood, & Todd Crawford.

Welcome Newest Rotarian Christine Weeks
Behind every great performance is a strong and savvy director. Christine is just that. She loves directing marketing and branding strategies at Eleanor Creative all while inspiring her employees to do great work. She started Eleanor Creative in 2009 after developing marketing strategies for healthcare organizations.

While driven is the perfect word to describe Christine, she actually hates driving a car. Most days you’ll find her cycling up the trails on her way to the studio. She’s on marathon #17 all while running a business and chasing after her five active children. There’s more to her story and her list of life experiences that make it easy to connect with her on so many different levels. She is always ready to listen and prepared with solutions to make your business and life flourish.

Thank you, Bill, for sponsoring Christine to Rotary. Welcome to Rotary, Christine!

Last Week at Rotary
Last week at Rotary, President Mailani Veney presided the meeting.  Randy Hawthorne was secretary and Tom Klein, & Andrew Munger were online greeters. Our program host was Lorie Cook-Benjamin. Mike Zeleny began the meeting with Let There Be Peace on Earth and Birthday song. In Finding the Positive, Dalton Brennan discussed youth's perspective in Minneapolis and Bill Mueller talked about moving beyond the Lincoln riots. Randy went over club business with first reading for Jennifer Bossard the Dean at Doane University's College of Business who is being proposed by Lorie Cook-Benjamin. Mike Zeleny, Mailani Veney, Bill Michener welcomed our newest Rotarians Meagan Liesveld, Angie Muhleisen, and Christine Weeks. During international Aloha President-Elect Eric introduced Brazil guest, Thierry Molnar Prates. Christina Usher encouraged everyone to participate in the Polio Bike Ride on June 6, 2020. Randy Bretz & Sharon Wherry reminded Rotarians to share their stories for the 110th anniversary. President-Elect Eric gave a dues reminder and announced the need for people to host Rotary Coffees. Books were donated for Maxey Elementary School by Doc Chaves for Bryan Seck & Tim Clare In Memory of Dr. James Weesner. Lastly, Lorie Cook-Benjamin introduced our speaker Bryan Seck to talk about workforce development in a pandemic.
