Rise-Shine-Give Raffle

Rise-Shine-Give Raffle – Sold your tickets yet? Do your part to help raise funds for Rotary 14’s Foundation by selling raffle tickets. More than 120 packets have been distributed, and more are available by contacting Mike Wortman. If we each sold (or bought) just 20 tickets, we’d raise thousands of dollars for our Foundation. Here are some ideas for selling your raffle tickets:

  • Sell them to co-workers
  • Hey, your neighbors might be interested
  • Put a note on Facebook or Instagram or Twitter
  • Sit at your favorite coffee shop with the tickets on your table
  • Hang a sign around your neck as you workout at the gym
  • Buy them yourself
  • Buy some for each member of your family
Stand at 13th and “O” any day at noon. Questions, please contact Mike Wortman at mwortman66@gmail.com.
You can Stop Human Trafficking
As Rotarian, you have the power to stop human trafficking through Rotary's Hotel-Motel Project. The Hotel-Motel project seeks to eliminate and prevent sex trafficking by educating those in the hospitality industry to recognize when it is happening and to train them on how to respond. In addition, this educational effort is designed to spur cultural change within the general community and among first responders.  We have a training happening right here in Lincoln on February 23, 2019 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2110 Sheridan Blvd, Lincoln, NE 68502. We need 30 volunteers. Sign up now, click/tap HERE. Questions, please contact Sharon Wherry at sharon.wherry@gmail.com or Dan Wherry at daniel.wherry@gmail.com.

The Hotel-Motel Project is relevant, timely and needed because: (1) There is a high incidence of sex trafficking in hotels-motels; (2) Personnel employed by hotels-motels see first hand what happens within their facility, and, if trained, are able to enhance intervention and prevention; and (3) There is a beginning national trend to criminally and civilly target facilitators of sex trafficking, with common themes including reckless disregard of sex trafficking within the facility, and failure to train facility personnel regarding sex trafficking.
Happy Birthday Rotarians!
