Originally from Blue Springs, Missouri, John earned his bachelor’s and master’s at the University of Nebraska, spending his undergrad in the Raikes Computer Science program with Brian Kaiser as a roommate and David Graff across the hall. John started as a developer in Hudl’s early stages before taking over the sales team for a short time. Now he serves as Chief Product Officer, making sure the software’s expansive list of features always stays ahead of the curve.

Welcome Newest Rotarian Meagan Liesveld
Meagan Liesveld began serving as the Executive Director of United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County in early 2020. Her experience in the nonprofit sector and her drive for community collaboration and engagement fuel her passion for the work of United Way.
 
Prior, Meagan served as Executive VP for CEDARS Youth Services, a nonprofit that provides a continuum of services across Southeast NE. She spent 15 years with the organization and gained a deep appreciation for the strength of the nonprofit network that serves Lincoln citizens.
 
Meagan has resided in Lincoln for nearly 20 years. She and her husband John have two children and thoroughly enjoy living in Lincoln.

Welcome Newest Rotarian Angie Muhleisen
Angie serves as President and CEO of Union Bank and Trust Company. She is responsible for the company’s growth, financial performance, bank-wide succession planning, and bank culture.
 
Angie earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Avila University in Kansas City, MO.  In the true Rotary way of Service Above Self, she serves on many charitable and civic boards including Assurity Life Insurance Company and she was the past chair and is a current board member of Bryan College of Health Sciences, Lied Center Advisory Board and the University of Nebraska Foundation Board.

Helping Families Affected by Riots in MN
Dalton Brannen and two of his co-workers from Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN, raised over $900 in donations in just three days, which was used to purchase needed supplies for communities most affected in Minneapolis. The donations were delivered to a collection site in the heart of Lake Street at TightenUp Bodybuilding on June 9th. 
 
 
Game Changer Contest Winner for May
TEAM 13. Congratulations to team 13 for winning the Game Changer contest for the month of May. The main players were Bill Michener and Jim Smith. Last Week at Rotary
Last week at Rotary, President Mailani Veney presided the meeting.  Randy Hawthorne was Secretary, Anna Hernoud was our online greeter, and meeting host was Trip Synder. Scott Larson honored John Zimmer as Paul Harris Fellow. Randy discussed club business 1st Reading for Pedro Maligo; 2nd Reading for Jennifer Bossard. Randy Bretz recapped the 110th-anniversary celebration. Christina Usher gave a post-event report for Polio Plus Bike Ride. Allen Beermann Rotarians with perfect Rotary attendance and engagement. Lisa Lee introduced an international guest, Ndoni Mcunu a Mandela fellow who talked about South Africa during COVID-19.
 
The Aloha Showcase began with Christie Weston discussing the value of Rotary 14 committees and people. Followed by Lorie Cook-Benjamin, Program Chair. Mark Feit talked about In-Club Celebrations chaired by Tim Kenny and Nebraskan of the Year chaired by Suzanne Sughroue. Erin Dobesh focused on Business Networking chaired by Bob Everitt and Rise.Shine.Give chaired by Ashlea Allberry. Doc Chaves discussed the Rotary International Foundation chaired by Scott Larson and the Gathering Place committee chaired by Kristin Yates. John Gessert spoke on High School Scholarship Committee co-chaired by Sandi Fabry and Patsy Koch-Johns and High School Interact chaired by Bill Michener with vice-chair Randy Hawthorne. Leslie Levy was speaker for NEOS co-chaired by Leslie Levy & Mark Stephens. Lastly, Chuck Schroeder talked about the Program Committee chaired by Lorie Cook-Benjamin.
