Liz Shea-McCoy Art Educator/Artist/Public Art Project Director
Presentation: Public Art Projects – Facts and Fiction Beginning in 2000, with the Tour de Lincoln (Bikes), Liz Shea-McCoy has continued to be invited to orchestrate, from beginning to end, the multitude of details related to Public Art Projects for communities, schools and organizations in Nebraska. Liz’s focus will be on addressing why Lincoln and its visitors continue to love these Projects. She will also clarify various concerns and questions raised from individuals about current and past Public Art Projects.
Speaker Bio: Liz is an advocate for artists of all ages and believes in celebrating the Arts in Nebraska and beyond with consistent excellence in the areas of art exhibition, collaboration, creation, teaching humanitarian efforts and leadership.
As an Artist-in-Residence, Liz continues her 3 decades of work with the Nebraska Arts Council. She is also affiliated with the Nebraska Rural Teaching Artist Initiative. Both require traveling throughout the state, collaborating with teachers, schools and organizations who want to challenge their students to express themselves artistically. With sincere sympathy, we announce that Doris Wolter passed away in August 2019. Doris Wolter was the wife of long time Rotarian John Wolter, Past Rotary 14 President and Past District 5650 Governor. Doris was very supportive of John during his term as President and as District Governor. She was a frequent visitor of Rotary #14 meetings and events.
Doris' Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday August 24th from 2 PM - 3 PM, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 7130 Kentwell LN., Lincoln, NE 68516. Last week, Immediate Past President Randy Bretz introduced our newest member Jeff Dostal as our newest Rotarian.
Jeff is a native of Norfolk NE and a 1986 graduate of WSC. After 4 years of working in the juvenile probation field in Southern California, Jeff returned to Nebraska in 1991 making Lincoln his home. After a brief stop in the non-profit world, he began a successful sales career at KLIN radio. After 13 years, Jeff and a partner started their marketing consulting firm, Marketing Firepower. In 2016, Jeff was asked to head up the radio sales team at Z92. After commuting from Lincoln to Omaha for 3 years, Jeff chose to continue his career back in Lincoln and is currently the Director of Market Growth for Leadership Resources.
In 2019, Jeff celebrated 25 years of marriage to his bride Kim. Together they have four wonderful children. Two girls and two boys. Brianna is currently in her second year as a special ed teacher at Everett Elementary. Bailey is newly married and beginning her masters program at UNL. Will is a 3rd year architectural student at UNL and Jacob is entering his Sophomore year at Pius X. Kim is an RN at Bryan hospital.
