Making an Impact With Service Above Self Summary: Did you know that Rotary Club #14 has 35 distinct ways for any member to get involved in the work we do within our Club and throughout our community? Our 35 committees present a wide variety of opportunities for members to find the right fit, considering their individual interests, talents, and availability. In any large organization, the real work happens when small groups of people band together to accomplish a goal that is meaningful to the members of the group. Collectively, our 35 committees make a huge impact. Let’s talk about Service Above Self and how you can play a part!
This past weekend, President Mailani Veney authorized the formation of Rotary 14 COVID-19 Task Force headed by current Rotary 14 Committee Chair and Grand Island Rotary Past President Todd Crawford. The purpose of the Task Force will be presented in great detail by Task Force Chair Todd Crawford during our virtual meeting tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Task Force is asking for volunteers with the main purpose of being available to make grocery runs or other assistance as needed by fellow Rotarians during COVID-19 pandemic. Please sign up, click/tap here. Questions, please contact Todd Crawford.

Last week at Rotary was our first virtual meeting in 110 years. Thanks to a highly engaged club leadership under President Mailani Veney, Rotary 14 didn't cancel its weekly meeting and is the lone club in the entire District 5650 that did not cancel their weekly meeting amidst physical distancing. The meeting occurred via Zoom web conferencing system and was livestreamed to our Facebook Page. It was a big hit with over 100 Rotarians and guests in attendance and over a thousand views on our Facebook Page, Facebook Group, Facebook Profiles, and Facebook Watch Parties.
Gail Illich hosted the meeting. Randy Bretz was assisting the Presiding Officer while Eric Drumheller, Trip Snyder and Yolanda Hoffman provided Tech support.
