This week is the kickoff meeting for brand new President Randy Bretz and his leadership team. President Randy and his team will present their plan of service for the year. Fresh from the Rotary International Convention in Toronto, President Randy is loaded with information to share with you so come and attend the meeting this week.
What inspires you? Is it a good book? Maybe it’s a great song? For sure it’s a special person in your life. When I reflect on what inspires me, it’s people like you, it’s people I interact with every day, it’s people in other Rotary clubs.
In 2018-19, the theme for Rotary clubs around the world calls all of us to “Be the Inspiration.” Just think of it . . . 1.2 million people in 200 countries all seeking to be an inspiration. If we each cause a little ripple of inspiration every day, just imagine how we can impact our community.
Furthermore, when we seek to inspire people, we can have an impact not only in Lincoln, but across the United States and around the world. We’re the largest Rotary club in Nebraska, We’re one of the largest Rotary clubs in the world. Join me as I seek to be the inspiration that has an international impact.

To continue our efforts of putting the club in a better financial standing, we have implemented a new prepaid card system where you have total control of your lunch money, while at the same time enjoying the benefits of express check-in. Lunch cards can be purchased at our Tuesday meeting from Yolanda Hoffman or Eric Drumheller. We have two kinds of lunch cards, one is for Full Buffet with 10 full buffet meals at $110.00. The second card is for Soup & Salad with 10 soup and salad meals at $80.00. You have the option to buy either one or both cards. Lunch card holders will check-in at the Express check-in. Simply present your card and our cashier will date stamp your card and then you keep your card. Treat it like any gift cards you have as it has money value. The check-in time for lunch card holders is between 30 seconds to a minute. If you wish to purchase your lunch cards online, please do so by clicking here and claim your lunch card the next time you are at our meeting.
As you all are aware, we have a new check-in process in place where you are greeted as you enter the Nebraska Club, by the elevator. It is where you also pick up your Rotary badge and get scanned for your attendance credit. Then you enter the meeting room with three convenient lines to check-in. If you are a lunch card holder, please check-in in the Express Check-in to your left; if paying by credit card, please check-in the middle line; if paying by cash, please check in at the line on the right. As always, we have a separate check-in for guests as they sign in with the Secretary for proper acknowledgement at the meeting. If you have any observations or suggestions, please let President Randy know.
