Lori Seibel, President & CEO of the Community Health Endowment will present information on the third edition of the popular community mapping project produced in partnership with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department. See where health factors have improved in Lincoln and where we still face challenges.
Bio: Lori Seibel is President & CEO of the Community Health Endowment of Lincoln (CHE), a position she has held since the inception of CHE in 1998. Formed from the proceeds of the sale of Lincoln General Hospital, the endowment has grown from just under $38 million in 1998 to more than $62 million today. Read more about Lori here.
Last week Allen Beermann introduced our newest member, Dennis DeRossett. Dennis is Allen's successor as Executive Director at the Nebraska Press Association. Dennis has been a Rotarian in the past for 12 years.
Dennis is a career newspaper executive with extensive experience and achievements in both publishing and press association management. He is native of Illinois and his career has taken him throughout the Midwest –in addition to Illinois: Ohio, Missouri, Oklahoma and Nebraska (twice). His first landing in Nebraska was in the ‘90s as the publisher of the Beatrice Daily Sun. His second venture into Nebraska began at the start of this year – on January 2nd Dennis began the transition to succeed Allen Beermann as Executive Director of the Nebraska Press Association. Peace and Conflict Resolution is Rotary's theme for February. Chris Hove, a former military commander and currently the President & CEO of Nebraska Bank of Commerce, shared his insights on leadership and trust as they relate to conflict and resolution. Chris believes that "fighting and protecting follow the same continuum as peace and resolution and you can’t get to one without understanding the other". Chris shared his four important leadership lessons at his speech at Rotary and he mentioned several amazing leaders at Rotary 14. Read Chris' speech, click here.
Last week at Rotary, President Mailani Veney presided the meeting. Randy Hawthorne conducted club business. Maury Halstead was Sgt. at Arms. Kassy Knudson of Lincoln Industries was our speaker. President Mailani launched the Game Changer Contest where each Rotarian gets credit for bringing guests to Rotary and for sponsoring new members. Check your team ranking here.
