Forest is a senior advisor and assistance and economic team lead in the Bureau of South and Central Asia. Prior to joining the Bureau of South and Central Asia, Forest served in U.S. Embassy Beijing’s Economic Section as the acting internal unit chief and labor officer. She has also completed tours at the U.S. Embassy in Canberra, Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the American Institute in Taiwan, the U.S. Embassy in London, and the U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai. 

In Washington D.C., Forest has worked in the Legislative Affairs Bureau, India Office, and Japan Office.
Forest grew up in Los Angeles, California, and earned European history and English literature degrees from Columbia University and Oxford University.
